    Born in Paraná, Entre Ríos, in 1924, where he carried out their first musical studies of bandoneon and piano. In 1947 you resided in Buenos Aires and their formation continued with the Catalan composer Jaime Pahissa with who goes into in the study of the system intertonal. It belonged to the first composers in using this technique arisen as reaction to the dodecafonismo, at the same time that it enlarged it. 

   In 1959 he used for the first time the musical drama of camera in an act The slope", in the theater Of the Independent, considered the first lyrical piece of atmosphere of Buenos Aires, thematic that showed in other such compositions as "Homage to Roberto Arlt", "Viñetas Porteñas" and "Fantasy for strings", among others. 

   In 1962, the Municipality of Buenos Aires rewarded its "Romance of the city of San Juan of the Frontier" and in 1967 he obtained the first prize for its "Symphony for a poet". Their "Fanfare Platform" deserved a distinction of the Secretary of Culture of the Nation. And in 1980, when being turned the 400 years of the foundation of Buenos Aires, for responsibility of the Municipality, it composed the symphonic poem "Greenwich 58 West." 

Pompeyo Camps

  Pompeyo Camps, in the same way that Héctor Panizza, with their four used for the first time operas, "The slope", "The country property", of 1987, " Marathon ", of 1990 and "The darkness of the reason", of 1996, it is located among the most fruitful Argentinean composers in the matter, after Arturo Berutti, Felipe Boero, Constantino Gaito and Alfredo Schiuma. 

   It is exactly in the land of the opera where the composer's ideological posture is discovered sharply with a message of problematic social topic, very marked in "The country property", a tragic farce that the same author explained with reason of his premiere in the Teatro Colón: "I imagined it like a parable about the feudalism in our America and their component, the filicidio (to kill a son).
